EPR Registration
EPR stands for Extended Producer Responsibility. It is an Authorization which is issued by CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board).It is applicable on electronic & electric equipment that cover under the Schedule 1 Category list Including all their Components, Consumable and Spare Parts.
Extended Producer Responsibility Is applicable on all the Producers of Electronics into the country including Manufacturers, Importers, Dealers, E-Retailers & Bulk consumers to channelize the proper disposal of E-Waste and to prevent their hazardous effects on the environment and living beings.
Through this registration the Producer has been given an extra Responsibility to manage and take care of the lifecycle of the electronics. The electronic waste after its Expiry needs to be properly disposed off, transported, stored, dismantled, segregated and recycled through the means of an Authorized E waste Recyclers
PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY-
- CPCB has allotted the liability to collect and recycle the E-Waste to the Producer itself
- 2. Either the producer can fulfill the responsibility by itself or can engage a PRO (Producer’s Responsibility Organization) for fulfillment of his responsibilities. The PRO engaged should be CPCB authorized.
